I am sitting in Barack Obama’s New Albany headquarters, waiting for Rep. Baron Hill and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) to show up and start a town hall meeting.
There are a few dozen folks here now, including D. Eric Schansburg, the Libertarian who is opposing Hill this fall, and Joe Burgan of the 8664 outfit.
Indiana doesn’t get to participate in such retail grassroots politics very often any more, so the whole state is pumped. The primary is May 6.
I just spoke to a rep of Hillary Clinton’s New Albany HQ — only a block away on West Main Street here — and she gave me some interesting info. Tomorrow, Clinton volunteers meet at 10 a.m. at the Perkfection coffee shop on Spring Street in Jeffersonville. They’ll go out knocking on doors.
At 4 p.m. Saturday, Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland will be at the Clinton New Albany HQ. And on Sunday — wait for it, it’s a weekend of Teds — Ted Danson will be there.
No shit. (CS)
So, it’s gettin’ interesting.
oops … they’re here. Time to work.
