B-Rock’s iVote: One of the problems with polling data is that the archaic system doesn’t survey people with cell phones. No, text message polls don’t count. Omitting cell phone users leaves out a good chunk of the population, especially younger Americans (35 and under) who don’t have a LAN line. Under the radar of the press and Republicans, the Obama campaign has been taking full advantage of this technological gap by registering new voters via social networking websites such as Facebook and even launching “a turnout application on the popular iPhone.” The Nation ran a nice piece on Obama’s web-savvy voter plan. Yarmuth’s ‘MAJOR Announcement’: The Y! campaign sent a press release that hyped a news conference scheduled for this morning. Congressman Yarmuth will be joined by the League of Conservation Voters Deputy Legislative Director Tim Greeff, so we’re assuming it’s about the environment. Whatever it is, it better be good.
