The Fraternal Order of Police announced this morning its endorsement of Democratic U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth in his current re-election bid. That’s a turnaround from two years ago, when the FOP endorsed then-incumbent Anne Northup, Yarmuth’s current challenger. She’s down 16 points in the latest SurveyUSA poll. Ouch. 

“In the last two years, it’s become very clear that whenever law enforcement needs resources or support to protect communities across the country, we can always count on Congressman Yarmuth,” said Mike Hettich,Kentucky’s National FOP Trustee, in a press release issued by the Yarmuth campaign. “The people of Louisville are very fortunate to have John Yarmuth fighting for their safety and security in Congress.”
