CNN is reporting that President-elect Obama may, during his first week office, issue an executive order allowing U.S. funds to go toward family planning groups in other countries that support or offer information about abortion. It’s a reversal of the Bush administration’s reinstatement of the “Mexico City Policy“, which requires all NGOs receiving U.S. cash to refrain from discussing abortion as a choice for pregnant women.

Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood is suing the Bush administration for further indiscretions against women.
