The Great Louisville IceAge 2009

The last 48 hours have been quite the trip here in Louisville: as much as five inches of snow, atop a layer of thick ice, atop … well, everything. Some 100,000 people are without power in the city; 473,000 are without power across the commonwealth. Public schools are closed through the week. With temperatures expected to drop below 20 degrees tonight, who knows how long this madness will last.

We decided we’d drive around — once the afternoon hit and we were able to dig our cars out of the white/gray/black muck — and shoot some photos. Click the one up top to check out our gallery, or go right here.
