Kentucky Fried Sheep?

It could happen: Yum Brands (international purveyor of tacos, chicken, and incontinence) is buying $63 million worth of shares in something called Little Sheep Group Limited, which operates an Asian restaurant chain that’s based in Mongolia and serves food from “Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom.”

The following is from Business First; kind of makes me feel sorry for Chinese people:

[Yum!'s] China Division, which is the company’s most profitable unit, has about 3,000 KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants. Over the past three years, the company has opened nearly 1,500 restaurants. Sales for the division have grown 29 percent annually over the period, while operating profit has grown 31 percent, the release said.

I guess we should be thankful that Louisville’s grease-merchant juggernaut is still doing gangbusters amidst a taciturn economy. Who knows? Perhaps popcorn chicken will be the currency of a brand new, tender, and crispy global financial paradigm, perhaps not.

Not only great growth for KFC in China, but fantastic per-bird profit un-available here. After all, Americans aren’t keen on chicken ass, necks, beaks and feet, all popular in China. Hell, with the right sauces, those sons o britches would probably eat the feathers.

Puhn, it’s not on the menu, but the Bardstown Rd KFC fries up some sphincterlicious chicken butt every Sunday night. Don’t tell those PETA aholes about ahole Sundays at KFC.
