As you probably know by now, Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Traitorsville) has announced he is switching parties to become a Democrat. That means if Specter caucuses with Dems and Al Franken wins in Minnesota, the party of the president has a filibuster-proof majority. Upon hearing this news, we did what is customary anytime bad news happens to Republicans — we checked Fox News for the “fair and balanced” take. Fox did not disappoint:
Not that we count on Fox to “get a story right” or whatever, but we should point out a crucial point their editors seem to have overlooked: More than 200,000 Pennsylvanians switched their voter registration from Republican to Democrat. So the whole “turns his back on voters” premise: Um, bunk.
