Ever the gentleman, Crazy Man Bunning has used Arlen Specter’s party-change as an opportunity to get passive-aggressive with his ex-BFF, Mitch McConnell:
Bunning’s statement was a poke at his Kentucky colleague, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. He said the “Senate Republican leadership’s coddling of Sen. Specter shows just how far the Republican party has lost its way” and that Specter has never been a reliable voice for conservatives. [AP, via The Courier-Journal]
With friends like him, who needs Democrats?
He also said he was looking forward to Specter losing his 2010 are-election bid as a result of this treacherous deed. Although Pennsylvania’s increasingly Democratic-eaning electorate will likely prove Bunning otherwise, if there’s one thing he does know, it’s the rancid stench of doom.

Is it just me or does Bunning remind anyone else of Boston Legal’s Denny Crane… without out the charm?
