Despite the rain, here’s some good news for the Commonwealth: $3 million in Federal stimulus funds will be disbursed to the recipient’s school of choice in an effort to re-educate Kentucky’s legions of laid-off workers. Via WAVE-3.com:
“Today’s workers will account for two-thirds of the work force in 2020. Yesterday’s skills will not suffice in tomorrow’s economy in America,” said [Rep. John] Yarmuth (D-KY 3rd).
The scholarships are being made available through Kentuckiana Works and are paid directly to the workers school of choice. Qualified applicants can receive up to $4,000 for tuition and $600 for books and supplies for up to two years.
