N. KY Hospital Gets Gyno-bots. Really.

It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are … receiving better care!

St. Elizabeth Healthcare announced Wednesday that it has purchased the Intuitive Surgical da Vinci S Surgical System for minimally invasive surgical procedures … The system, housed at St. Elizabeth’s Edgewood hospital, will at first be used for urological and gynecologic oncology surgeries. The first scheduled procedure will be performed in early August. [The C-J]

Yes friends, in a fucked-up health care system where even humans lack the compassion and wherewithal to deliver proper treatment unto other humans, it only makes sense that robots would step in sooner or later. Before long, they’ll be the patients, too! (I think Boehner and McConnell are crafting such an alternative as we speak…)
