In Case You Think This Was ‘Just a Rain Storm’…

Flooding drowned 10 kittens and a dog at the Metro Animal Services shelter Tuesday, forcing officials to find temporary quarters for 500 dogs and cats, metro officials said.

The Metro Animal Services headquarters, which includes the local animal shelter, was under water Tuesday afternoon, Mayor Jerry Abramson said. The animals were being taken to the fairgrounds. [The Courier-Journal]
