Courtesy of that whole Federal stimulus package that smart people say wasn’t enough to begin with, $52.5 million dollars will be funneled into seven Jefferson County schools for maintenance, new additions and other renovations that would’ve taken years under the trickle-down, starve-the-beast domestic spending policy we’ve come to know and love.
Here’s a list of the projects, via The C-J:
Valley High: New auditorium and gymnasium as well as heating and air conditioning replacements and other renovations — $26 million
Iroquois High: Heating and air conditioning replacements and other renovations — $9 million
Bowen Elementary: New library media center, heating and air conditioning replacements and other renovations — $3.7 million
Lincoln Elementary: Performing arts pavilion — $3.6 million
Layne Elementary: Heating and air conditioning replacements and other renovations — $3 million
Fern Creek Elementary: Heating and air conditioning replacements and other renovations — $2.7 million
Camp Taylor Elementary: Heating and air conditioning replacements and other renovations — $2.5 million
Roosevelt-Perry Elementary: New library media center and elevator — $2 million
