Using a presentation technique that he perfected as a grassroots activist, Democratic mayoral candidate Tyler Allen unveiled a campaign video today that conveys his vision for revitalizing Louisville’s debilitated neighborhoods. The abandoned buildings and other eyesores featured in the short teaser were taken from the co-founder of 8664′s recent visit to parts of Southwestern Louisville through a blighted area along Cane Run Road.
Though it lacks in actual human interaction and specifics, the campaign says through the visuals it wants to contrast between what the city’s neglected areas are currently and Allen’s ideas about improving neighborhoods, including an initiative to bring a light rail system to the city.
“What is happening in those neighrborhoods differs greatly with Tyler’s vision of what Louisville’s neighborhoods could be with him as mayor,” says Jason Perkey, Allen’s campaign manager. “He wants to show the city can be better if we think smart and bring everyone to the table who is affected by decisions that Metro government makes.”
