Red Hot Michele Bachmann is beating the liberal media

Serious Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has been rocketing upwards in the polls of late, and today she received more great news that her message of voluntary default and praying away America’s gay is catching on with Republican voters. PPP released a new national poll which is the first to show her leading the field of GOP candidates.

Just as many have predicted, the more the media points out or mocks her, uh, eccentricities, the more that conservatives rally around to her defense. Her rise in the polls might not be happening despite this, but partially because of this. As of today, Michele Bachmann has beaten the liberal media.

No, literally. Her goons roughed up the gotcha liberal media today:

That’s when things got interesting. Ross dashed after Bachmann, repeatedly asking whether she had ever missed a House vote due to a migraine. She ignored him. Ross pursued her into a parking area behind the stage. Her aides grew alarmed. When Ross made a beeline for the white SUV waiting to carry Bachmann away, two Bachmann men pounced on him, grabbing and pushing him multiple times with what looked to me like unusual force. In fact, I have never seen a reporter treated so roughly at a campaign event, especially not a presidential one. Ross was finally able to break away and lob his question at Bachmann one more time, but she continued to ignore him.

Afterward, I asked Ross — a hard-nosed pro who nevertheless seemed slightly shaken — whether he had ever been treated so roughly. “A few times,” he told me. “Mostly by mafia people.”

It’s easy to say that this little incident will be “bad for the campaign,” but don’t be so sure. After all, JD Sparks’ fit of violence against LEO’s Jonathan Meador two years ago didn’t stop him from being elected Oldham County magistrate, and the fact that Rand Paul’s county coordinator viciously curbstomped a woman didn’t hurt him.

Meanwhile, Michele Bachmann’s stock continues to rise among the GOP with each (seemingly) embarrassing story. Perhaps because when you’re hot for God, God is hot for you.
