Yarmuth on payroll tax agreement; McConnell-Obama bromance ends

Rep. John Boehner — fresh off of being smacked around in public by Lord McConnell, then President Obama — finally put his tail between his legs and caved on his ridiculous blockage of the payroll tax deal this afternoon (even though the Tea Partiers are still going to pout).

Here’s Rep. John Yarmuth’s thoughts:

“I’m glad House Republicans have chosen to pursue the interests of millions of American families over their own ideological exercise. I hope they can deal in good faith with Democrats, Senate Republicans and the American people in negotiating a long-term deal.”

But that brief, hot, passionate new bromance between McConnell and Obama? Oh come on, you know it was never meant to be. Obama would get all clingy, and then Mitch was going to dump him and proceed to immediately talk shit about him all over town.

Do your bizarre “one-term president” thing, Mitch:

The President’s statements castigating House Republicans have thus amounted to the kind of unhelpful political opportunism Americans are tired of. The President seems to forget that the only reason we are even discussing an extension of temporary measures like the payroll tax cut and unemployment insurance is his own failure to turn our nation’s economy around nearly three years into his administration.

Awww… Obama said means things about his boy Boehner. We should all feel sorry for him and be upset at the president now, right?

Good luck selling that one, Mitch.

Unfortunately for Mitch we all remember what his # 1 goal is………………anything and everything to sink the economy.
