Rep. John Yarmuth was on MSNBC yesterday afternoon to chat with Martin Bashir about the budget smoke and mirrors of John Boehner and Paul Ryan. But halfway through, Bashir asked him what he thought of Mitch McConnell’s amazing new ad for his campaign that is two years away.

As you can see in the last two minutes of the video, Yarmuth points out that McConnell never once mentions Kentuckians or the American people in the ad. It is all about McConnell’s own personal power and influence, and there’s absolutely nothing about policy or governance. Yarmuth also notes that McConnell is running scared from the Tea Party, who might very well try to oust him from leadership next year if enough Tea Party senators end up coming to Washington. And with the blowout win of Thomas Massie on Tuesday, Yarmuth says that McConnell’s preeminence in Kentucky is slipping to our new Liberty Overlord, Sen. Rand Paul.
Truly fascinating (and true) stuff. This is also stuff that you’ll never hear from the Kentucky Democratic Party, which thinks Mitch McConnell is doing a fantastic job…
