As Business First reported last night, Los Angeles-based AEG Facilities has won the contract to operate the Yum! Center. While the Kentucky State Fair Board has operated the arena since its construction, the Arena Authority sought out a private operator due to the arena’s high operating costs, which have exacerbated the already shaky financial standing of the authority’s ability to pay off construction debt.
LEO Weekly obtained an email sent today by Fair Board President and CEO Harold Workman to Yum! Center employees, telling them that their future employment options at the arena will be revealed at a meeting on Monday:
1) AEG has been selected as the management company; a public announcement will be made soon.
2) There will by a KFC Yum! Center all staff meeting on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the Legends Room. Please plan to attend. In this meeting, we will review options and updates.
3) Staff from our Human Resources office will be available to meet with you to review your benefit information, pay deductions, etc.
4) You will have the opportunity to interview with AEG representatives in the very near future — probably Tuesday or Wednesday, June 26 or 27.
