Karl Rove launches web attack ad against Ashley Judd

American Crossroads — the Citizen’s United-era baby of Karl Rove — just released this web ad slamming Ashley Judd as a liberal liberal liberal supporter of this Obama guy who must be pretty evil and stuff:

If Mitch McConnell and Republicans really wanted to run against Ashley Judd — as they’ve been implying that she’d be sooo easy to beat — why would they put this ad out there in February of 2013, as she’s making up her mind?

The best explanation I can see at this point is that they’ve seen internal polling of the race, and yes, they are quite afraid of Ashley Judd.

That, or they’re just not that bright. And given Rove & Co.’s recent track record of success, that might actually be the best explanation.
