GOP pollster claims McConnell up 9 over Judd, which means it’s pretty much tied

WHAS teased their new poll matching Sen. Mitch McConnell against Ashley Judd all day, which we now know was actually a poll commissioned by longtime Kentucky Republican pol Scott Jennings, and conducted by Harper Polling, a new Republican firm — lead by the NRCC’s polling director from last year — seeking to “compete” with Democratic firms like Public Policy Polling.

And the result of this de facto internal polling? Mitch McConnell 49, Ashley Judd 40.

Using my internal pollster curve that I’ve used for years — roughly 7 percent in the direction of your opponent — that means the race is likely a statistical tie, just as every other poll between the two has shown over the past two months.

Mitch McConnell, Kentucky senator for 28 years, is tied with an actress who has never run for office.

Buckle up, this is going to be a race.

Yeah…wonder what the margin of error is with sample size of less than 900?

Do those pollsters ever print that?
