Big wallet Bloomberg enters Kentucky, poll finds 82 percent support closing gun show loophole

New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg and his Mayors Against Illegal Guns organization — big campaign spenders over the past year that have definitely changed the outcome of races in favor of pro-gun control candidates — just released a poll of Kentuckians that is sure to make a certain senior senator gulp. Not just because it shows that an overwhelming majority of Kentuckians disagree on gun control policy with Sen. Mitch McConnell, but the very fact that Bloomberg and his billions of dollars are now sniffing around in McConnell’s backyard.

Their poll released this morning shows that 82 percent of Kentuckians favor “requiring all gun buyers to pass a criminal background check, no matter where they buy the gun and no matter whom they buy it from.”

That would include gun shows and their giant loophole for background checks, which McConnell equates with tyranny.

That would also be the same kind of gun show that McConnell and his wife attended this weekend in Louisville, as he was shaking hands, kissing babies and looking for votes next to tables full of easy-access guns:

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that Bloomberg and his billions are snooping around in Kentucky, right Mitch? Yes, nothing to see here, please go back and resume courting the mighty Tea Party…
