JCPS Confidential back in the saddle (so to speak)

It’s been nearly six months since we told you about JCPS Confidential, a school-centric whistleblower-type website whose output has been virtually nada until a recent incident involving a (now former) Manual High School teacher, a young boy, some condoms, some beer and some wet wipes stirred it from slumber. Here’s this from WHAS-11: A former [...]

In the midst of a robust debate about the future of Jefferson County Public Schools, the leader of a non-partisan education advocacy group says Louisville’s public education system cannot blame extreme poverty and racial diversity for its failing schools. Berman is out

JCTA president denies Berman contract swayed nod

An online news site is reporting that the president of the Jefferson County Teachers Association recruited a school board candidate, who the union later endorsed in order to secure the renewal of Jefferson County Public Schools Superintendent Sheldon Berman’s contract. Last week, the teacher’s union announced its support for candidates in a number of area [...]

New blog, ‘JCPS confidential’ launched

The beginning of the year for Jefferson County Public Schools started with a serious snafu in busing, two principal suspensions and a superintendent playing dodgeball with the press. Now a new blog has launched encouraging “whistleblowers” to come forward and report mismanagement in the school system, which could shake things up even more. Last week, [...]
