What? Just because the toilet water in that KFC bathroom is rain water run-off somehow offsets the vast, fossil-fuel dependent distribution system required to transport millions of unsustainably harvested mutant chickens to your thrice-stapled American stomach?
A KFC/Taco Bell co-branded store in Northampton, Mass., has been awarded LEED Gold certification, according to Yum Brands.

Kentucky Fried China

Earlier today we discovered that the Kentucky economy isn’t as bleak as we had assumed, and now we learn that Yum! Brands’ stock surged nearly 8% because CEO David Novak said the magic word “China” and PRESTO! another day-trader refrains from suicide. [The Courier-Journal]

It could happen: Yum Brands (international purveyor of tacos, chicken, and incontinence) is buying $63 million worth of shares in something called Little Sheep Group Limited, which operates an Asian restaurant chain that’s based in Mongolia and serves food from “Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom.”
